There is nothing more nostalgic to me than Easter nests… in fact, I think they were among the first things I ever made as a child (if you can even call it baking!). They’re the ultimate fuss-free treat – super easy, quick, and requiring just a handful of ingredients.

Traditionally, they’re made with milk chocolate, but I’ve opted for white chocolate instead, and I have to say, it makes them even more special. The creamy sweetness of white chocolate pairs beautifully with the crunchy cereal, creating a lighter, more delicate flavour. Plus, it gives them a gorgeous, pastel-like appearance – perfect for Easter!

To make them extra cute, I’ve nestled them into these adorable baby pink cupcake cases (which are also reusable – win!), making them a pretty addition to any Easter spread. Read on for the full recipe!

Method

Follow these steps to make our White Chocolate Easter Nests

1. Melt Your Chocolate

Start by melting your white chocolate in a large mixing bowl, either in 30-second increments in the microwave, or over a bain-marie. Once your white chocolate is melted and smooth, move onto the next step.

2. Crumble in the Shredded Wheat

Remove your shredded wheats (or cereal of your choice!) from its packaging, and crumble them into the melted white chocolate. We’re aiming for large shreds/small chunks here, not fine crumbs, as they’ll break up further when combined with the white chocolate.

3. Add the Mixture To Cupcake Cases & Decorate

Spoon the mixture into your cupcake cases, shaping each portion into a little nest. Press 2-3 mini eggs into the centre of each nest while the chocolate is still warm to help them stick. Let your white chocolate nests sit at room temperature or in the fridge before digging in!

How Long Will These Easter Nests Keep?

Honestly? Absolutely ages. I keep mine on a cake stand at room temperature, and they are good for about a week. But, if you keep them in an airtight container in the fridge, they should last even longer! If you do plan on keeping your white chocolate nests in the fridge, take them out to warm up a bit before serving – otherwise they will be super hard to bite into!
